Any Motorcycle Riders?
I've been riding since around the new millennium , and I've also graduated with honors from M.M.I. the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Florida. So if you need your bike worked on, let me know.

How many people here ride? Post a pic if you have one.

RE: Any Motorcycle Riders?
I ride, just not much lately. In my 30 years of riding, I have had literally dozens of bikes... my current stable an old beat up 1985 Honda Rebel that I plan to make ridable by the time my 13 yo is able to legally ride.

I do believe I handed out candy to two Mario's that evening. Possibly hand me down costumes?

RE: Any Motorcycle Riders?
I don't ride but intend to learn. I have a friend who has a ninja 600 i think it is. I plan on getting a bike but im torn. I don't want to get two freaking bikes. My friend suggests that I should start out on a 250 and learn on that then move my way on to the bike that I want Hyabusa which is my dream bike. Decisions, decisions.

Well i'm not exactly the bike guru, since i don't own a motorcycle of my own. However, from people that i know, they grow out of 250's quickly. They do have a high resale value though because of the ever large ammount of new riders.
A 'Busa is a monster on two wheels lol. They are unforgiving. Check out a 600 or 650 bike. That'd be enough to learn on and enough to grow into. The 'Busa's do look nice though Smile

RE: Any Motorcycle Riders?
I would also reccomend against starting out with a bike that's too big for ya. My first bike was a a 1984 Ninja 550 that I learned how to ride on. It was much too top heavy for my height and build to properly learn to ride with. Although I did make do because it was all I had at the time.

If I had it to do over I would have spent the money on a rider program that would have put me on a closed course with a 250 that has a much lower center of gravity to learn on.

RE: Any Motorcycle Riders?
A good Motorcycle safety course is worth its weight in GOLD. I took my first one in the NAVY and can say that even after having been riding a few bikes and several thousand miles prior too.. the course taught me a lot. I would even recommend it for older riders like myself that haven't ridden in a while... it never hurts to train. Training saves lives.

RE: Any Motorcycle Riders?
Agreed Joey, Regardless of the level of experience or active riding a training course is an immeasurable tool that even someone like me who rides everyday could benefit from because of the situations that are placed before you during the course.

I have been riding for over 20 years. I currently own a 2006 Yamaha Stratoliner 1900(fully customized) and a 2008 Saxon Pro Street Chopper. Love 'em both!!

^^^Choppers are awesome too!

My next bike purchase is going to be a Harley Crossbones. I love the ape hangers, springer front end with solo seat!

It will be mine, oh yes... It will be mine

we'll have to organize some road time when were not shooting at each other.

RE: Any Motorcycle Riders?
I used to ride motocross a few years ago. I haven't gotten to do much riding this past season but I plan on getting a new Shadow next summer. My dad is a biker and I've been around bikers (CMA, Hells Angels, etc.) since I was young.

I like the Spirit, but I prefer the new Phantom. It just screams intimidation. Haha.

And the 2010 Interstate. But that's out of my price range.

Okay the interstate is a big boy. I don't mind dressers but there's a part of me that screams for streamlined, chopped up glory without too many of the bells and whistles. Just the open road and a backpack on two wheels is all i need.
